About: Ruaha Catholic University (RUCU) is the charitable successor to Ruaha University College (RUCO), which was founded by the Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC) in compliance with its Trust Deed of the Registered Trustees of Ruaha University College. Ruaha Catholic University (RUCU) is located in the center of the Iringa Municipality, next to the NMB bank Mkwawa Branch, which is located along the Iringa-Dodoma Road. RUCU is situated in Iringa town, around 11 kilometers from the Iringa bus terminal (Igumbilo). Dodoma Road passengers should get off at the Kihesa bus stop.
All new students are expected to show up for an orientation session one week prior to the start of classes.
Travel and other plans:
- Students are in charge of arranging their own transportation to RUCU and making sure they have enough money on hand to cover any necessary costs.
- International students are expected to complete all immigration processes in their home countries before departing for Tanzania. People must also get a study or residency permit from the Tanzanian Embassy or High Commission nearest to them before they can arrive at the university. When visiting Tanzania, it is advisable to have one’s documentation and RUCU confirmation of an admissions offer close at hand. However, when you are not utilizing the computer labs or library, you are free to bring your laptop and smartphone for private study sessions. Please be advised that Iringa Town, where RUCU is located, is a great place to learn because it has reliable energy and robust network connectivity.
