Announcement: 8,000 Vocational Training Opportunities in Various Fields
The Office of the Prime Minister, through the Ministry of Labor, Youth, Employment, and Persons with Disabilities, is implementing the National Skills Development Program. This initiative aims to equip the national workforce with the necessary skills to compete in the job market.
As part of this program, the government has partnered with 52 accredited vocational training institutions to offer training in various fields, including:
- Fashion Design and Tailoring
- Plumbing
- Masonry
- Carpentry
- Welding and Metal Fabrication
- Painting and Sign Writing
- Culinary Arts
- Mechanical Parts Fabrication
- Automotive and Machinery Mechanics
- Domestic and Industrial Electrical Works
- Automotive Electricity
- Hospitality and Tourism
- Mining and Metalwork
Eligibility and Application Process
Tanzanian youth aged 15 to 35 are encouraged to apply for training in one of the listed fields. Applications must be submitted to regional and district VETA training centers or other approved institutions.
The government will cover 100% of the tuition fees, but students or guardians will be responsible for additional costs, including transportation. The training will begin on March 3, 2025, and will be conducted on a full-time basis.
Applicants are advised to apply at institutions within their respective regions. The list of approved institutions is available on the Ministry’s official website: www.kazi.go.tz.
Required Documents
Applications must be submitted between January 31, 2025, and February 12, 2025, along with the following documents:
- Application letter
- Copy of birth certificate
- Copy of the highest academic certificate obtained
- National ID or voter’s card (for those aged 18 and above)
- Letter of recommendation from the local government office
- Four passport-size photographs (with the applicant’s name written on the back)

Minimum Qualifications
- Basic education (primary level or higher) is required for training in tailoring, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, welding, and painting.
- Ordinary level secondary education (Form Four and above) is required for training in mechanical parts fabrication, automotive mechanics, electrical works, and solar energy.
- Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens, aged 15–35 years, and in good health.
- Special consideration will be given to persons with disabilities.
