For nearly 50 years, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has been working with the Tanzanian government and people on the mainland and in Zanzibar to improve information and services related to sexual and reproductive health and rights, youth empowerment, gender equality, women’s empowerment, and the availability and use of high-quality disaggregated data for planning and programs.

Open Positions and Description

1. Intern: Family Planning

  • Aid in the analysis of quarterly reports from implementing partners and the recording of lessons learned for distribution and upcoming family planning program areas;
  • Conduct desk research on SRH-specific subjects to help guide the creation of policy briefs and other family planning-related advocacy and communication tools;
  • Participate in the creation of talking points and briefing notes for the national office management regarding family planning;
  • Help with the creation of concept notes and possible proposals, as well as other fundraising activities to support the SRH/Family Planning Program at the country office;

2. Operations

  • Create the necessary authorization paperwork for the customs clearance of equipment, supplies, and items purchased from overseas.
  • Perform physical inventory checks and create delivery, inspection, and reception reports.
  • Arrange meetings for the procurement process and get the vendors’ payment documentation ready.

3. Programme Delivery and Management

  • Record the execution of the program;
  • Encourage frequent i-docs (Program folders) updates;
  • Assist with mission supervision, field monitoring visits, and the tracking and execution of program meetings;
  • Observe the UNFPA dashboard and send out updates;
  • Monitor the framework for results of bilateral donor programs and provide status updates;

4. National Intern—Maternal Health

  • Help with the analysis of the quarterly reports from implementing partners and the recording of lessons learned for distribution and upcoming programming on maternal health program areas;
  • Conduct desk research on SRH-specific subjects to help guide the creation of policy papers and other advocacy and communication materials related to maternal health;
  • Participate in the creation of talking points and briefing notes for the national office management regarding maternal health;
