To join our expanding team in Geita, Tanzania, as a warehouse leader, we are seeking a dynamic individual who is enthusiastic about interacting with customers and providing top-notch service. In addition to other assigned supervisory responsibilities at the relevant vendor managed inventory (VMI), the individual will be in charge of site operating activities.

Based in Geita, Tanzania, the position will answer to the Senior VMI Supervisor.

Purpose of the role:

In charge of overseeing all warehouse operations and making sure the staff provides effective service. This includes keeping precise inventory records, keeping an eye on the flow of incoming items, and assisting with efficient sales operations. In addition, the position entails overseeing adherence to warehouse management standards and procedures and spearheading projects for continual development.

The job responsibilities:

  • Help manage a productive warehouse business that can meet goals and satisfy customer and operational demands.
  • Help oversee team members’ daily activities and make sure everything runs well.
  • Verify the condition of all outbound supplies and confirm that all paperwork is correctly signed for appropriate documentation.
  • Make sure that parts are delivered to customers in accordance with the plan.
  • Teach new warehouse operators inside their sphere of influence.
  • Make sure that the workplace is safe and healthy so that employees can perform their jobs without endangering themselves.
  • Make sure the area of responsibility’s inventories are correct.
  • Make sure that stock movements are appropriately documented.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or logistics, or a similar degree from an accredited university.
  • At least three years of expertise in supply chain management, procurement, and logistics.
  • Proficiency and familiarity with ERP systems, such as Aurora
  • expertise in responding to complaints and questions from clients.
  • It will be advantageous to have prior exposure to and experience in the mining and associated industries.

Other Requirements & Competencies

  • Fluency in English and excellent communication abilities both in writing and speaking.
  • Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and a high level of diligence.
  • Flexibility, independence, and the capacity to work as a proactive self-starter on one’s own.
