Wananchi Group Tanzania (SimbaNET & WCT), a leading regional provider of Internet, Data, Broadcasting, and Multimedia Communication Solutions, is hiring for two exciting positions: General Ledger Accountant (GLA) and Business Analyst. 1. General Ledger Accountant (GLA)

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Reports to: Country Finance Manager

Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger Maintenance: Oversee the integrity of the general ledger and ensure accuracy in all financial transactions.
Month-End and Year-End Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial reports in compliance with internal standards and regulations.
Account Reconciliation and Analysis: Perform reconciliations and provide detailed analysis to ensure financial data integrity.
Compliance and Audit Support: Support audits and ensure that financial practices adhere to local regulations and international financial reporting standards.
Internal Controls: Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard the company’s financial resources.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations and support for business objectives.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger or financial reporting.
Certifications: CPA T, ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting certification is preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills.
Knowledge: A strong understanding of Tanzanian financial regulations and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

2. Business Analyst

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Reports to: Country Finance Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluating Business Processes: Anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, develop, and implement solutions.
Process Optimization: Lead reviews of business processes and develop strategies for optimization.
Requirements Analysis: Perform analysis, document findings, and communicate results effectively to stakeholders.
Solution Development: Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements.
Prioritization: Prioritize initiatives based on business needs and strategic goals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effectively communicate insights and plans to team members and senior management.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with clients, technicians, and managerial staff to gather critical information and produce actionable recommendations.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor’s or MBA in Finance, Accounting, Business Studies, Business Administration, or Management. Basic knowledge of ICT, CPA/ACCA certifications are advantageous.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis or a related field, with a proven track record of working with senior decision-makers.
Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships and communicate complex insights effectively.
