Technical Specialist – Infrastructure & Service Management
Location: Tanzania

Role Outline

The ISM Technical Specialist will support the Country ISM Lead for the IT Infrastructure and Service Management (ISM) function at the country level. The role aims to manage the IT infrastructure and services to ensure the provision of professional and cost-efficient IT services to operations, projects, and customers. The role focuses on implementing globally and regionally defined infrastructure and services from a standardized portfolio of providers, with local customizations where necessary. The ISM Technical Specialist is also accountable for the protection of the company’s information assets and reputation in line with the commercial and contractual agreements with DHL customers and suppliers.

As part of the ISM team (including 1 ISM Lead, 1 ISM Specialist, 6 subcontractors, and suppliers), you will work in close collaboration with the Country ISM Lead.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Support the Country IT ISM Lead to meet goals related to quality, budget, and timelines.
  • Implement and track long- and medium-term strategies for ISM in alignment with the regional ISM, ensuring alignment with internal customers.
  • Support the ISM Team with implementation support for both existing and new customers.
  • Provide IT Infrastructure and Service Management services in accordance with SLAs, ensuring service quality and cost alignment with agreements.
  • Assist in implementing Information Security and risk-related policies, standards, technologies, and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, software licenses, and hardware asset registers.
  • Support the ISM Lead in managing internal and external suppliers according to SLAs at the local level and contribute to supplier management processes.
  • Ensure proper documentation of IT services per site.
  • Provide project-related implementation services.
  • Ensure timely and accurate updates of documentation (Work Instructions, SOP, IT Asset Register, Site Network Documentation, Project Plans, Ticket Systems, etc.).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Matriculation Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or relevant education and work experience.
  • Solid knowledge of ISM and related methodologies (ITIL certification preferred).
  • Familiarity with project management.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in supply chain/logistics or other fast-paced sectors.
  • Basic to good understanding of complex logistics operations, ideally within DHL’s core sectors.
  • Knowledge of DHL Supply Chain operations or experience in other divisions is advantageous.
  • At least 2 years of experience in ISM technical specialist roles.
  • Understanding of IT Infrastructure (Telecoms, Network, Desktop, Hosting).
  • Basic understanding of the supply chain and its core applications (WMS, TMS, integration, etc.).
  • Results-oriented, with a strong focus on achieving high-quality service performance across various locations and conditions.
  • Proven ability to work in a multinational environment.
