1. Program Manager
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Reports to: Executive Director
Position: 1
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of TLS programs.
- Oversee professional development, ethics, compliance, and legal advocacy initiatives.
- Develop and execute fundraising strategies to support TLS programs.
- Strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders, including the government, judiciary, parliament, and donors.
- Ensure timely and effective program reporting and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Supervise program officers and contribute to the overall TLS strategic direction.
Key Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Public Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, legal services, or a similar role.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven ability to mobilize resources and manage donor-funded programs.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
2. Assistant Accountant (Accounts Payable)
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Reports to: Senior Accountant
Position: 1
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor compliance with TLS financial policies and procedures.
- Review all payable documents for completeness, validity, and accuracy before processing payments.
- Ensure timely processing of supplier payments based on reconciled invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents.
- Monitor expenditures to ensure adherence to authorized levels.
- Maintain and reconcile petty cash, ensuring expenditures align with TLS financial policies.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and expenditure reports.
- Support external and internal audit functions by providing necessary documentation.
Key Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or its equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in accounts payable roles.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
