1. Program Manager

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Reports to: Executive Director
Position: 1

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of TLS programs.
  • Oversee professional development, ethics, compliance, and legal advocacy initiatives.
  • Develop and execute fundraising strategies to support TLS programs.
  • Strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders, including the government, judiciary, parliament, and donors.
  • Ensure timely and effective program reporting and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Supervise program officers and contribute to the overall TLS strategic direction.

Key Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Public Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, legal services, or a similar role.
  • Strong leadership, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to mobilize resources and manage donor-funded programs.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

2. Assistant Accountant (Accounts Payable)

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Reports to: Senior Accountant
Position: 1

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor compliance with TLS financial policies and procedures.
  • Review all payable documents for completeness, validity, and accuracy before processing payments.
  • Ensure timely processing of supplier payments based on reconciled invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents.
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure adherence to authorized levels.
  • Maintain and reconcile petty cash, ensuring expenditures align with TLS financial policies.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and expenditure reports.
  • Support external and internal audit functions by providing necessary documentation.

Key Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or its equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in accounts payable roles.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
