The Singida Clean Water and Sanitation Authority (SUWASA) is a public institution under the Ministry of Water, established by the Water Supply and Sanitation Act No. 5 of 2019. The Authority is entrusted with the responsibility of managing the provision and distribution of clean water in the Singida Municipality and other areas as directed by the Minister responsible for Water.
1.0 Application Requirements
a) The applicant must be a Tanzanian aged between 18 to 45 years old.
b) The applicant must have completed Form IV.
c) The applicant should possess a Technical Certificate Level II in Plumbing, Electrical Engineering (Plant Operator), Marketing, Customer Service, Accounting (Assistant Customer Service Officer), Law (Assistant Legal Officer), IT (Assistant IT Officer), or Accounting Degree (Accounts Officer), or equivalent qualifications from a government-recognized institution. d) The applicant must be honest, obedient, and mentally sound.
e) The applicant must be a resident of Singida Region.
1.1 Plumber Technician (Pipe Reader) – 12 Positions
Job Responsibilities:
- Read customers’ meters and prepare reading reports.
- Report faulty meters to the responsible officer.
- Report water connections, leaks, and water loss issues.
- Prepare monthly customer usage reports for the respective regions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
1.2 Plumber Technician (Plant Operator) – 18 Positions
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee water production and report any faults immediately.
- Maintain records of machine startup and shutdown times.
- Clean pumps, connections, and areas around the machine house.
- Maintain visitor logs for the water production area.
- Keep records of daily water production and electricity used.
- Send daily water production reports to the supervisor every morning.
- Participate in maintenance of electrical systems and machinery.
1.3 Plumber Technician (Pipe Fitter) – 17 Positions
Job Responsibilities:
- Handle and report water leaks.
- Handle and report water loss, infrastructure damage, and suggest appropriate control methods.
- Prepare performance reports and submit them to the supervisor.
- Perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
1.4 Assistant Customer Service Officer – 1 Position
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in collecting market data.
- Answer customer calls and inquiries.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on handling complaints.
- Receive and forward customer complaints to the relevant officers.
- Participate in identifying customer needs.
- Participate in monitoring and reviewing business performance.
- Perform any other duties as directed by the supervisor.
1.5 Assistant Legal Officer – 1 Position
Job Responsibilities:
- Register legal documents within the Authority.
- Represent the Authority in court and other legal forums.
- Handle routine legal communications sent to the Authority.
- Verify legal documents within the set authority.
- Maintain and update the court case register.
- Advise on an efficient file system for expediting legal document returns.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
1.6 Accounts Officer – 1 Position
Job Responsibilities:
- Review payments and receipts recorded in the financial ledger.
- Verify supplier invoices for payment.
- Reconcile subsidiary ledgers of creditors with the main accounts and recommend payments.
- Verify Journal Voucher entries for general and subsidiary ledgers.
1.7 Electrical Engineer Grade II – 2 Positions
Job Responsibilities:
- Work under the supervision of a registered professional engineer from ERB for guidance.
- Inspect plants, machinery, and equipment according to established procedures.
- Manage maintenance and repairs of plant equipment and machinery.
- Coordinate the preparation of preventive maintenance schedules and execute them.
- Advise on the selection of electrical equipment based on technical feasibility and required services.
- Investigate the causes of technical faults in plants and recommend corrective actions.
- Recommend laws, regulations, and procedures for electrical equipment installations and ensure compliance by all involved personnel.
- Advise on the electrical impacts of new projects.
- Ensure issues of power outages and electricity bills from TANESCO are addressed.
- Prepare regular maintenance reports for management.
- Set individual performance goals and targets in consultation with a senior supervisor as part of performance agreements.
- Perform any other duties as directed by the supervisor.

1.8 Water Engineer Grade II – 1 Position
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain financial records for the water network and track any changes affecting the network.
- Monitor water flow and networks.
- Assist in addressing customer complaints related to water services.
- Conduct research on water loss and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare and maintain daily records of significant and minor water supply system damages and ensure timely repairs.
- Oversee the control of technical water loss due to leakage.
- Perform any other duties as directed by the supervisor.
