Paid Internship Positions
1. Financial Officer
The Financial Officer manages SOA Tanzania’s revenue and funds. Key responsibilities include maintaining financial records, preparing budgets, conducting audits, and managing donations.
Roles:
- Maintain records of financial flows and receipts.
- Prepare annual budgets and audited reports.
- Manage donations and payment campaigns.
- Disburse staff salaries and handle office subscriptions.
- Participate in grant-making processes.
Qualifications:
- Background in finance management and fund recordings.
- Experience in handling donations.
- Active SOA Tanzania member.
2. Communication Manager
The Communication Manager amplifies SOA Tanzania’s voice through creative content, social media, and branding.
Roles:
- Design graphics and content.
- Manage social media accounts and create engaging posts.
- Develop quarterly newsletters and blogs.
- Create videos and reels for outreach.
Qualifications:
- Background in IT and design.
- Experience with tools like Canva, Adobe, and social media management.
- Skills in science communication and environmental advocacy.
- Active SOA Tanzania member.
3. Human Resource Manager
The Human Resource Manager oversees staff well-being and ensures smooth office operations.
Roles:
- Manage staff and ensure task completion.
- Maintain office procedures and physical spaces.
- Keep records of organizational documents.
- Prepare official letters and conduct in-person meetings as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Background in human resource management or social sciences (knowledge of marine sciences is a plus).
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Volunteering Opportunities
4. Project and Program Manager (Volunteer)
This position involves managing SOA Tanzania’s projects and programs and ensuring smooth implementation.
Roles:
- Collaborate with working groups for effective project execution.
- Manage SOA Tanzania’s Opportunity Map.
- Prepare annual reports for donors and supporters.
- Plan and oversee project activities.
Qualifications:
- Good leadership and organizational skills.
- Background in marine or environmental sciences.
- Active SOA Tanzania member.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace tools.
5. Policy Officer (Volunteer)
The Policy Officer ensures the implementation and compliance of SOA Tanzania’s policies and regulations.
Roles:
- Formulate and implement policies and regulations.
- Educate staff on relevant laws and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Background in law.
- Experience in legal documentation and regulations.
- Active SOA Tanzania member.
