Responsibilities
- Operate specific plant circuits within the required parameters based on metallurgical guidance.
- Produce high-quality work safely and efficiently.
- Monitor and troubleshoot operating equipment.
- Report equipment failures and abnormalities for repair.
- Collect and submit hourly/shift samples.
- Handle and mix reagents.
- Adhere to safety and environmental guidelines.
- Perform hourly readings of plant variables and analyze data.
- Conduct shift handovers accurately.
- Participate in both unplanned and planned plant shutdowns.
- Assist in mill relining activities.
- Assess possible hazards, recommend, and initiate appropriate solutions.
- Maintain general housekeeping.
- Engage in on-the-job and structured training, performance reviews, and development activities.
Qualification Requirements
- Form Four (IV) Secondary Education (Diploma in Mineral Processing is an added advantage).
- Full Technician Certificate (FTC) or Trade Certificate in Mineral Processing or equivalent is an added advantage.
- Awareness of the Mines Health & Safety Act.
Experience & Competencies Required
- Minimum 1 year of process operation experience in mineral processing.
- 2+ years of experience in process plant operations.
- 2+ years of experience in chemical and reagent handling/mixing.
- 2+ years of experience in Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) operations.
- 2+ years of experience in Polywelding (added advantage).
- Experience in:
- Comminution (crushing & grinding circuit operations).
- Heavy media separation (gravity/concentrator operations).
- Cyclone/classification process operations.
- Mill reline activities (added advantage).
- Raw material/stockpile operations.
- Communication and documentation management.
- Computer applications (Excel proficiency is an added advantage).
