1: Software Specialist (Back End) Job Description

Job Overview

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
The Software Specialist (Back End) creates the logical back end, front end, and core computational logic of websites, software, or information systems using a broad range of technologies such as JAVA, C#, Python, and more. This role involves creating prototypes, designing and building modules, and delivering solutions across iterative cycles to develop, maintain, and optimize business outcomes. The specialist is responsible for performing peer reviews, collaborating with architects and developers to produce designs, and ensuring technical documentation and training are provided for reference and operational support. The role typically reports to the Chapter Lead.

Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership

Design, develop, and test automation workflows.
Review code and design, providing expertise in the development and integration of systems.
Work with Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, QA Analysts, Product Owners, and other cross-functional resources to define and deliver business-impacting projects.
Configure new automation with efficient and easily understandable automation tools.
Collaborate with development team members to ensure proper implementation and integration of solutions.
Support deployments or troubleshoot production issues outside of work hours and participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
Maintain/improve current knowledge of relevant technologies and business processes.
System Management: Proactively monitor system performance and ensure availability of services is above 99.999%.
System Security and Compliance: Ensure all charging infrastructure and applications are well-secured, and all products and service integrations align with policies, processes, and best practices. Perform checklists and user reviews as assigned by the line manager.
Self-Development: Stay up to date with technology advancements.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience

Agile and lean programming and development of software systems in web-scale environments.
Backlog item estimation.
Unit, integration, smoke, and static code analysis testing.
Experience working on Robotic Process Automation (RPA) with one of the market-leading RPA platforms: UI Path, Automation Anywhere, and/or Blue Prism.
Software incident and problem management.
Expertise in multiple programming and markup languages, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Ruby, SQL, XML, JSON, YAML, C, Go, and Python, and paradigms such as object-oriented, event-driven, procedural, functional, and declarative programming.
Knowledge of databases including MariaDB, MySQL, and MongoDB.
Vast knowledge of operating systems such as Linux.
Continuous integration and continuous delivery methodologies and tools.
DevOps culture, processes, and tools.
Cloud-native architectures, including public cloud PaaS/IaaS, microservices architectures, and APIs.
Flexibility to deal with changing projects and priorities in a short space of time.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new methods and processes.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to distill difficult technical concepts into simple and actionable modules.
Strong time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and work comfortably under pressure.
Good understanding of the business capability/user journey, wider organizational goals, and desired product business outcomes.
Understanding of both the current telecommunications and digital services market and emerging business and technology trends.

Must-Have Technical/Professional Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience working with agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, XP, LSD, and FDD.
2+ years of experience in programming languages such as Visual Basic, C#, C/C++, Python, ASP, PHP, and Java.
Experience working in cloud-native environments.
Experience developing and consuming APIs.
Professional experience and knowledge of the telecommunications industry preferred.
Hands-on experience with RPA tools and cognitive platforms such as UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, etc. UiPath experience is highly preferred.

2: IT System Administrator

Job Overview

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

The IT System Administrator will be responsible for the general maintenance of the company ecosystem. This will include end-to-end incident management from initial troubleshooting to root cause analysis to problem management. Implementation of security policies, patch management, and user access management as per the company policies. This role is responsible for designing and building modules and solutions based on the needs of business and IT.

Perform and maintain the system security.
