The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of Tanzania has announced job vacancies in preparation for the upcoming general elections scheduled for October 2025. The available positions are as follows:
- Election Coordinators: Two positions are available, one for Unguja and one for Pemba.
- Election Supervisors: Positions are available for each district.
- Assistant Election Supervisors: Three positions are available for each constituency.
To be eligible for the Election Coordinator positions, applicants must be civil servants with experience in election-related matters or voter registration in the permanent voter register. Applications should be submitted to the INEC offices in Zanzibar—Maisara for Unguja and Chakechake for Pemba—between April 3 and April 23, 2025. These vacancies are part of INEC’s efforts to ensure a smooth electoral process and are open to qualified candidates across Tanzania.

The Political Parties Act, (No. 5 of 1992) was enacted to provide for the registration of Political Parties. The Elections Act (No.1 of 1985), the Local Authorities (Elections) Act, (No. 4 of 1979) and related legislations were also substantially amended to get rid of the one – party system and to put in place appropriate procedures for the conduct of Elections under the multi – party system.
