Compassion International Is Hiring Director of Diversity & Inclusion, We are seeking an experienced professional to lead global diversity and inclusion initiatives, addressing the unique contexts of each country and reflecting the global Church (Revelation 7:9). This role empowers our brothers and sisters in Christ to use their gifts and talents, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, or location.

About the Role

The Director of Diversity and Inclusion will set the strategic direction for Compassion’s global diversity and inclusion function. This role includes implementing initiatives that enhance the organization’s cultural health and scalability for growth. The director will oversee enterprise-wide projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with the ministry’s global strategies. Responsibilities include leading subordinate managers and staff while upholding Compassion’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spiritual Leadership: Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrate a Christ-like attitude, and faithfully uphold Compassion’s mission in prayer.
  • Child Advocacy: Prioritize child protection in all activities, adhering to Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report and respond appropriately to concerns of abuse or neglect.
  • Organizational Leadership: Live out Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors and Leadership Expectations, including vision-casting, talent engagement, strategy execution, accountability, and adaptability.
  • Strategic Oversight:
    • Lead the development and execution of global diversity and inclusion strategies.
    • Integrate D&I initiatives across organizational processes such as talent planning, employee engagement, leadership development, and more.
    • Partner with teams to ensure alignment with the ministry’s theological worldview and cultural context.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Manage budgets, oversee deliverables, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Analyze data to monitor trends and provide actionable recommendations for organizational improvement.
  • Staff Development: Hire, mentor, and manage team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Global Collaboration: Establish partnerships across functions to accelerate results and drive operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degrees or certifications preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years in diversity and inclusion, with global experience and leadership roles.
    • Strategic mindset with experience building and leading global D&I initiatives.
    • Familiarity with cultural differences in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
  • Skills:
    • Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking); additional language proficiency preferred.
    • Strong background in HR and organizational leadership.
