Job Summary:
The assistant finance manager is responsible for overseeing the financial processes, analyzing daily financial activities, and providing advice and guidance to upper management on future financial plans. This role plays a crucial part in developing and implementing financial strategies that support the company’s growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze monthly revenues and expenses to ensure accurate recording.
- Evaluate collected data to assess the company’s financial status.
- Provide financial reports and interpret financial information for managerial staff, recommending further courses of action.
- Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take.
- Ensure accurate reports are in place to enable thorough understanding of the current position and support forward planning and decision-making.
- Ensure that all budgets are utilized according to the approved budget document.
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
- Ensure timely and correct payment of all government taxes, statutory deductions, salaries, and staff benefits.
- Handle monthly returns filing (PAYE, SDL, WHT, provisional taxes & VAT).
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of all CNS Group accounts to ensure their accuracy and upload them to Zoho Books.
- Examine and process expenditures submitted by CNS Group staff – Treasury.
- Maintain an orderly accounting and expenses filing system.
- Support fixed assets documentation, inventory, and reporting.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, commerce, economics, statistics, or a related field.
- Certification: A professional certification in accountancy (e.g., CPA (T) / Certified Public Accountant) is essential.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English is preferred.
- Mobility: Ability to travel as required for supplier visits and meetings.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting packages such as ZOHO Books and QuickBooks; strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Knowledge: Understanding of all statutory accountancy regulations (TRA, NSSF, WCF, etc.); familiarity with relevant legal regulations and industry standards.
