Job Vacancies at Geita Town Council – 9 Positions Available

The Director of Geita Town Council has received official approval (Ref. No. FA.97/228/01A/25 dated 29/04/2025) from the Permanent Secretary – Public Service to announce new job opportunities.

Applications are now open to all qualified Tanzanians for nine (09) Driver II positions as outlined below:

1. Position: Driver II (9 Posts)

Main Responsibilities:

• Inspecting the vehicle before and after trips to ensure safety.
• Transporting staff for official duties.
• Performing minor vehicle maintenance.
• Collecting and delivering various official documents.
• Logging all trips in the vehicle logbook.
• Keeping the vehicle clean and tidy.

Qualifications:

• Completed Form Four (O-Level) education.
• Valid Class C or E driving license.
• At least one year of accident-free driving experience.
• Must have completed a Basic Driving Course from VETA or a recognized training institution.

Salary Scale:

• TGS B

General Application Requirements:

1. Must be a Tanzanian citizen aged between 18 and 45 years (except current public servants).
2. Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must indicate their disability status in the job application system.
3. Applicants should submit a detailed CV including contact address, active phone numbers, email, and three reliable referees.
4. Public servants applying for positions in a different cadre must route their applications through their current employer.
5. Attach certified copies of relevant academic and professional certificates — including O-Level and/or A-Level certificates and proof of completed training.
6. Note: Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statement of Results, and result slips for Form IV and VI will not be accepted.
7. Applicants with foreign qualifications must ensure their certificates are verified by TCU, NECTA, or NACTVET.
8. Retired public servants are not allowed to apply unless they have clearance from the Chief Secretary.
9. Current public servants in entry-level roles should not apply unless authorized, as per Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November 2010.
10. Providing false information will lead to legal action.
11. The deadline for application submission is June 16, 2025.
12. Important: Applications must include a signed cover letter and certified copies of academic certificates.
