Job Description:
The Assistant Inventory Controller will support the effective management of inventory by ensuring accurate stock records, coordinating physical counts, assisting with reconciliations, and facilitating seamless movement of vegetable seed stock across the supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and update inventory levels at depots and central warehouse
- Support physical stock counts and assist in reconciling variances
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the inventory management system
- Track and report seed movement between warehouses, depots, and customers
- Prepare weekly and monthly inventory reports for internal use
- Coordinate with procurement, production, and sales to ensure inventory accuracy
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of inventory transactions
- Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures and policies
- Assist in identifying slow-moving or obsolete stock and recommend actions
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Accounting, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in inventory or warehouse operations, preferably in the agricultural or FMCG sector
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
- Familiarity with agricultural inputs, especially vegetable seeds, is an added advantage
