Job Summary:
The procurement category manager will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies for spares, equipment, and related services. This role involves managing supplier relationships, optimizing procurement processes, and ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders to achieve cost savings and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Category Management Strategy: Develop and implement category strategies for spares, equipment, and related services, including spend analytics, supplier and cost analysis, and risk mitigation.
- Savings and Lead Time Management: Identify opportunities for cost savings, improve payment terms, and proactively manage contracts to enhance efficiency.
- Internal Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment from need verification through to delivery.
- Purchase-to-Pay Process Management: Define P2P strategies, ensure supplier capacity and stock availability, and establish clear sourcing plans.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Identify and develop new suppliers, engage with suppliers in executing P2P processes, and manage supplier performance.
- Reporting and Forecasting: Maintain accurate records, forecast procurement needs, and lead category improvement projects.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in procurement and/or engineering.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in procurement and/or engineering activities.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with local and international suppliers related to the category.
- Certification: Registration with the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB).
- Skills: Accuracy, strong computer skills, analytical thinking, effective communication in English, leadership, innovation, cost consciousness, multitasking, and safety awareness.
