Tanzania Women Lawyers Association (TAWLA) is seeking dynamic, qualified, and passionate individuals to join its team for the implementation of an impactful project in the Tabora region. TAWLA is currently recruiting three (3) Council Project Coordinators and one (1) Project Officer for its project titled “Building Rights for Improved Girl’s Health in Tanzania (BRIGHT)”.
Established in 1989, TAWLA is a reputable Non-Governmental Organization committed to advocating for gender equality and promoting human dignity through legal reforms, policy advocacy, community outreach, and media engagement. The organization is registered under the Societies Act and recognized under the NGOs Act since 2019.
Current Open Positions
1. Project Officer – BRIGHT Project (1 Position)
- Location: Tabora
- Department: Programs
- Reports To: Project Technical Director – Implementation
- Job Type: Contract
As a technical partner in the BRIGHT project, TAWLA plays a pivotal role in integrating adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) and nutrition services in remote areas of Tabora, including Igunga, Kaliua, and Urambo.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily project implementation and ensure alignment with the work plan.
- Provide technical assistance for ASRH and nutrition integration.
- Train community leaders, healthcare providers, and stakeholders.
- Coordinate and support Council Project Coordinators.
- Lead monitoring, evaluation, and community mobilization efforts.
- Collaborate with partners and contribute to technical reports and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Medicine, Public Health, Nutrition, Nursing, etc.); Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant project experience.
- Familiarity with DHIS2 and MTUHA tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and advocacy skills.
2. Council Project Coordinators – BRIGHT Project (3 Positions)
- Location: Igunga, Kaliua, Urambo (Tabora Region)
- Department: Programs
- Reports To: Project Officer
- Job Type: Contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison with local government authorities.
- Coordinate and implement project activities at council level.
- Advocate for ASRH and nutrition services.
- Engage stakeholders and facilitate community-based initiatives.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and support data reporting.
- Prepare reports and document project achievements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Nutrition, Public Health, or related fields; Master’s is an added advantage.
- At least 3 years’ experience in integrated health programming and technical assistance.
- Knowledge of DHIS2, MTUHA, and experience in NGO settings.
- Strong mobilization, negotiation, and leadership capabilities.
