RUWASA 10 Vacancies March 2025, The Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) in Handeni District, on behalf of Community-Based Water Service Organizations (CBWSOs), announces job vacancies as follows:

The selected candidates will work in five community-based water service organizations:

  1. MMWaSSO
  2. MSOMERA
  3. KWAMSISI – KWASUNGA
  4. KWAMGWE
  5. KANG’ATA

1. QUALIFICATIONS FOR CBWSO SUPERVISOR

  1. Must have at least a secondary school education (Form Four and above).
  2. Must possess a certificate or diploma in Water Engineering or a related field from a government-recognized institution.
  3. Age range: 18-45 years.
  4. Must be trustworthy and have no criminal record.
  5. Should have experience in the water sector.
  6. Must have computer skills.

DUTIES OF CBWSO SUPERVISOR

  1. Acts as the overall supervisor of the community-based water service organization and serves as the Secretary of the Water Committee and Chief Executive of the organization’s activities.
  2. Reports to the CBWSO Committee regarding daily operations.
  3. Oversees all maintenance, technical, and management activities of the water service organization.
  4. Ensures water bills are collected and that water services reach all beneficiaries.
  5. Reports all operational matters to the RUWASA District Manager as required.
  6. Prepares financial reports, including income and expenditure statements, and submits them to the RUWASA District Manager.
  7. Encourages residents to pay water bills and resolves conflicts between the organization and the community.
  8. Manages procurement for the organization’s projects in accordance with procurement guidelines.
  9. Performs any other duties assigned.

SALARY

This is a contractual job, and the salary will be determined based on water sales revenue from the specific project, subject to approval by the CBWSO Water Committee.

2. QUALIFICATIONS FOR ASSISTANT PLUMBER

  1. Must have at least a secondary school education (Form Four and above).
  2. Must hold a plumbing certificate (VETA) from a government-recognized institution.
  3. Age range: 18-45 years.
  4. Must have at least one year of experience in plumbing.

DUTIES OF ASSISTANT PLUMBER

  1. Carrying out tasks as directed by the lead technician.
  2. Installing various types of water pipes and sanitation infrastructure.
  3. Cleaning water infrastructure, including sources and tanks.
  4. Repairing pipes, fixing leaks, reading water meters, and responding to emergency maintenance issues.
  5. Performing any other duties assigned by the Manager.

SALARY

This is a contractual job, and the salary will be determined based on water sales revenue from the specific project, subject to approval by the CBWSO Water Committee.

3. QUALIFICATIONS FOR ACCOUNTANT

  1. Must have at least a secondary school education (Form Four and above).
  2. Must have a certificate or diploma in Accounting from a government-recognized institution.
  3. Age range: 18-45 years.
  4. Must be capable of reconciling financial reports.
  5. Must have computer skills.
  6. Must be honest and have no history of theft or criminal charges.

DUTIES OF THE ACCOUNTANT

  1. Depositing all collected water bills and other revenues into the bank before utilization.
  2. Advising the CBWSO supervisor on financial matters.
  3. Processing payments only after approval by the organization.
  4. Keeping all financial records and relevant documentation.
  5. Preparing financial reports and submitting them to the CBWSO Supervisor.
  6. Performing any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

SALARY

This is a contractual job, and the salary will be determined based on water sales revenue from the specific project, subject to approval by the CBWSO Water Committee.
