RUWASA 10 Vacancies March 2025, The Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) in Handeni District, on behalf of Community-Based Water Service Organizations (CBWSOs), announces job vacancies as follows:
- CBWSO Supervisors (2 positions)
- Assistant Water Scheme Technicians (7 positions)
- Accountant (1 position)
The selected candidates will work in five community-based water service organizations:
- MMWaSSO
- MSOMERA
- KWAMSISI – KWASUNGA
- KWAMGWE
- KANG’ATA
1. QUALIFICATIONS FOR CBWSO SUPERVISOR
- Must have at least a secondary school education (Form Four and above).
- Must possess a certificate or diploma in Water Engineering or a related field from a government-recognized institution.
- Age range: 18-45 years.
- Must be trustworthy and have no criminal record.
- Should have experience in the water sector.
- Must have computer skills.
DUTIES OF CBWSO SUPERVISOR
- Acts as the overall supervisor of the community-based water service organization and serves as the Secretary of the Water Committee and Chief Executive of the organization’s activities.
- Reports to the CBWSO Committee regarding daily operations.
- Oversees all maintenance, technical, and management activities of the water service organization.
- Ensures water bills are collected and that water services reach all beneficiaries.
- Reports all operational matters to the RUWASA District Manager as required.
- Prepares financial reports, including income and expenditure statements, and submits them to the RUWASA District Manager.
- Encourages residents to pay water bills and resolves conflicts between the organization and the community.
- Manages procurement for the organization’s projects in accordance with procurement guidelines.
- Performs any other duties assigned.
SALARY
This is a contractual job, and the salary will be determined based on water sales revenue from the specific project, subject to approval by the CBWSO Water Committee.
2. QUALIFICATIONS FOR ASSISTANT PLUMBER
- Must have at least a secondary school education (Form Four and above).
- Must hold a plumbing certificate (VETA) from a government-recognized institution.
- Age range: 18-45 years.
- Must have at least one year of experience in plumbing.
DUTIES OF ASSISTANT PLUMBER
- Carrying out tasks as directed by the lead technician.
- Installing various types of water pipes and sanitation infrastructure.
- Cleaning water infrastructure, including sources and tanks.
- Repairing pipes, fixing leaks, reading water meters, and responding to emergency maintenance issues.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the Manager.
SALARY
This is a contractual job, and the salary will be determined based on water sales revenue from the specific project, subject to approval by the CBWSO Water Committee.
3. QUALIFICATIONS FOR ACCOUNTANT
- Must have at least a secondary school education (Form Four and above).
- Must have a certificate or diploma in Accounting from a government-recognized institution.
- Age range: 18-45 years.
- Must be capable of reconciling financial reports.
- Must have computer skills.
- Must be honest and have no history of theft or criminal charges.

DUTIES OF THE ACCOUNTANT
- Depositing all collected water bills and other revenues into the bank before utilization.
- Advising the CBWSO supervisor on financial matters.
- Processing payments only after approval by the organization.
- Keeping all financial records and relevant documentation.
- Preparing financial reports and submitting them to the CBWSO Supervisor.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
SALARY
This is a contractual job, and the salary will be determined based on water sales revenue from the specific project, subject to approval by the CBWSO Water Committee.
