About HakiRasilimali
HakiRasilimali (HR) is a civil society platform in Tanzania dedicated to promoting transparency and accountability in the extractive industry, including mining, oil, and natural gas. As the Tanzanian chapter of Publish What You Pay (PWYP), a global coalition advocating for open and accountable extractive sectors, HR works to influence policy and promote sustainable management of natural resources.
Internship Overview
HakiRasilimali is seeking a motivated and passionate intern to join its Research and Policy Analysis Department. This opportunity is ideal for individuals eager to engage in research, policy analysis, advocacy, and social justice, particularly in the extractive sector. The intern will gain hands-on experience in research methodologies, policy evaluation, and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Research and Policy Officer, the intern will:
- Identify and research policy issues related to Tanzania’s extractive industry.
- Assist in developing concept notes, research frameworks, and analytical methods.
- Support the organization of events, workshops, and meetings for advocacy initiatives.
- Compile research materials and prepare background briefs and reports.
- Monitor and analyze developments in extractive policies and prepare summaries.
- Assist in data collection, statistical analysis, and literature reviews.
- Contribute to drafting policy papers, memos, and other research documents.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Political Science, Law, Public Policy, International Relations, Sociology, or a related field.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong research, statistical, and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with research tools and databases is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
