Mission & Objectives:
UNHCR protects refugees, displaced communities, and stateless individuals, supporting voluntary repatriation, local integration, or resettlement. The agency is piloting the Results Monitoring Survey (RMS) to measure impacts and outcomes in line with the Global Compact on Refugees and the Sustainable Development Goals. Tanzania, hosting over 246,000 refugees (2021), is a pilot country for the RMS scale-up phase.
Key Tasks:
- Support RMS household survey implementation.
- Review and recommend improvements for monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems.
- Develop an M&E roadmap for operational planning.
- Guide teams on data collection, analysis, and indicator selection.
- Coordinate and harmonize M&E activities.
- Draft TORs, reports, and methodologies.
- Train staff and partners on RMS.
Eligibility & Requirements:
Age: 18–80
Education: Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Law, Economics, Development, Social Science, or related fields.
Experience: 3 years in programme management, data collection, M&E, and statistics.
Languages: English (Fluent)
Skills & Competencies:
- Expertise in M&E and data analysis.
- Familiarity with UNHCR’s RBM approach and tools.
- Proficiency in MS Office and database management.
- Strong drafting and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt in challenging environments.
Living Conditions:
- Kasulu is a family duty station with basic facilities.
- Housing is provided but limited; some staff rent in town.
- Limited food and shopping options; reliance on Kigoma visits.
- Basic recreational facilities.
- Security Level-2: Restricted road travel with required police escorts for some routes.
