Main Tasks

- Conduct Training:
- Lead community trainings on governance practices and principles.
- Promote CBNRM through Nature-based Solutions (NbS), climate-smart strategies, ICT4Fisheries, and whale shark conservation approaches.
- Raise Awareness:
- Plan inclusive events involving WATONET and stakeholders.
- Data Collection:
- Design/update socioeconomic data collection tools for whale shark conservation.
- Collaborate with WATONET, TAFIRI, and local tour operators.
- Community Engagement:
- Ensure coherent youth and women involvement in whale shark conservation.
- Develop sustainable livelihoods through inclusive conservation efforts.
- Promote Ecotourism:
- Monitor whale sharks, engage school clubs, and support related groups.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in fields like Marine Ecology, Fisheries Management, Project Management, or similar.
- Skills in fisheries, environmental conservation, livelihood/community development.
- Knowledge of whale shark conservation is advantageous.
- Experience with social media for promotions.
Skills and Competences
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe tools (Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro) preferred.
- Ability to develop field stories, fact sheets, and infographics.
