Barrick Gold Corporation
The Tarime district in the Mara region, northwest Tanzania, is home to the North Mara gold mine (Barrick Gold Corporation). It is roughly 100 kilometers east of Lake Victoria and 20 kilometers south of the Kenyan border.
Barrick North Mara began manufacturing goods for the market in 2002. The mine has two deposits: Nyabirama (open pit) and Gokona, and it runs both underground and open pit. An average of 8,000 metric tons of ore can be processed daily by the process unit.
Open Positions and Description:
1. Jumbo Operator: National (3 Positions)
Responsibilities:
- Do a thorough pre-inspection.
- Transport the equipment to the assigned location.
- Set up the drilling equipment.
- Getting ready and crossing things off.
- Ground support installation using cable bolts, mesh, and bolts
- Engage in drilling activities.
- Determine which equipment is uncoupled and take it out of the office.
- Make sure every piece of gear is clean.
Qualification/ Education
- A mining degree or other comparable technical degree backed by real-world mining work experience.
- Certification for single boom and double boom.
2. Electrician: 2 Positions
Responsibilities:
- Assure safe work practices by using the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), attending mandatory safety meetings and courses, reporting incidents and accidents, and making sure that all safety, occupational health, and environmental policies—as well as other pertinent policies, procedures, and guidelines—are strictly followed.
- Every day while working, any potential risks on the road and within the workplace are found, fixed, and/or reported (at least five while working).
- Perform an accurate field-level risk assessment for each work that is assigned.
- Complete adherence to SOPs for safe work every day, including lifting and rigging, tight spaces, isolation, lockout, and working at heights.
Qualification requirements:
- Electrical certification from an accredited college, university, or institution with at least a diploma or VETA level 3
- An additional benefit is having a current driver’s license.
- An additional benefit is having an electrical license.
- Licenses with high voltage are an extra benefit.
3. Mobile Equipment Operator I
Responsibilities
- Attend mandatory safety meetings and training, use the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), report incidents and accidents, and make sure that all safety, occupational health, and environmental policies—as well as other policies, procedures, and guidelines—are strictly followed in order to ensure safe work practices.
- When transporting waste both beneath and on the surface, drive the truck safely.
- Refuel, wash, and perform pre-start checks.
- Help with face charge-up, post-fire re-entry, and mine service extension as directed.
- Collaborate on quality and safety projects with technical and supervisory personnel.
- Finish every task to the needed standard and at the required pace.
Qualification requirements
- Certificate of Secondary School Education.
- VETA Driver’s License.
- Valid class B, C, D, and E driver’s licenses from Tanzania.
- Hold a valid class B, C, D, or E driver’s license from Tanzania.
- Capable of operating a stick shift or manual transmission.
4. Auto Electrician
Responsibilities
- Assure safe work practices, such as using the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), reporting incidents and accidents, attending mandatory safety meetings and courses, and making sure that all safety, occupational health, and environmental policies—as well as other pertinent policies, procedures, and guidelines—are strictly followed.
- Assess task risk using JHA and FLRA.
- Maintaining, fixing electrical problems, identifying faults, and doing routine inspections on a range of mining equipment (such as SANDVIK, CAT, and NORMET).
- Organize the unit’s activities and report to the supervisor.
- Make certain that mobile equipment is maintained affordably and safely.
- Participation in creating national workforce training programs and conducting competency evaluations.
Qualification requirements
- Education in secondary school.
- Apprenticeship training, technical/vocational education, and on-the-job training (such as the FTC, VETA, IMTT Trade Test, or its equivalent).
- Solid familiarity with best practices and mining safety requirements.
- Certification in the repair of air conditioning systems.
5. Supervisor Instrumentation
Responsibilities
- Make sure team members receive coaching and training in accordance with the Barrick standard.
- Assure adherence to all legal requirements as well as Barrick’s environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
- Use an incident report to document any health, safety, and environmental (HSE) concerns.
- Oversight of Daily Upkeep Plant equipment is inspected and operated.

Responsibilities
- To provide the business with legal advice on all issues, especially labor-related ones.
- Coordination of management efforts and tactics is necessary to resolve any upcoming or potential industrial disputes.
- Adopt and recommend changes to HR policies and procedures in accordance with national regulations.
- Give management knowledgeable, specialized guidance on HR, ER, and regulatory compliance.
- Make sure the business is consistently well-represented in pertinent forums, such as the Labor Court and CMA.
- Represent the business in arbitration, mediation, and negotiation procedures for resolving disputes.
- To choose the best management approach, conduct legal analysis and risk assessment of declared and prospective disputes.
Qualification requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in either employee relations, law, or HR.
Experience and competencies are needed.
- Two years or more of experience in a comparable position.
